El Camino Day 6. Torres del Rió to Navarrete

Got out early today catching my first sunrise and covered a little over 35 kilometers today.  The weather has been getting pretty warm in the afternoon and now I’m trying to get to my destination before it gets too late in the day.  Walking around 20 miles a day with a heavy pack is taking a toll on my feet.  I’m starting to get more blisters and keeping my feet dry is my new challenge.  Last night in the hostel was a bit rough as I was in a room with a guy who would scream in his sleep. Then, he followed this up with some really loud snoring.  It was so loud it would wake everyone, every time.

Tonight I’m spoiling myself with a private room and my very own bathroom.  The trail have provided lots of great sites to see except Longroño. (Big city) I definitely won’t be planning a trip back there.  Today was also a fairly quiet day on the trail since I left at 5 am.  I might have only crossed paths with 10 pilgrims.  I’m hoping for a goods night rest and an early start tomorrow.

You’re a better man than I….I would have smothered the guy, putting him (and the rest of the occupants) out of his misery.
