After arriving in Bogota there was one thing that I definitely did not expect......It´s COLD HERE! I usually try to avoid big cities but there was a few items that I decided to do while I was here. I walked around the city, which to my surprise Bogota is a really neat place, and I also decided to go see a cathedral made of salt? I really didn´t know what to expect of the salt cathedral but it was one of the coolest things I have ever seen in my life! The Cathedral was built inside of a salt mine and it is just something you would have to see to believe it! Because it is dark inside the salt mine I could never give you a good idea of what it is like in real life but my advice is if you get a chance, Colombia has a lot to offer and don´t miss the salt cathedral.

Sorry I didn’t get your email answered last week. Koby and I went to Denver with Merlin on Sunday and stayed with him in your condo until Wednesday. We spent most of that time in the mountains hiking, and touring the Argo goldmine. Koby was really intrigued, and it seemed to be a good learning experience for him. Before we left there he was able to pan for gold, and believe it or not he found several small flacks. He got to take them home with him, and is looking forward to showing them to you. Then on Thursday your Grandma Duke and I took him to Six Flags. Then I had to work Fri., Sat., and Sunday. This has been an extremely busy month.
I am still waiting to hear from you on an expected arrival date in Peru. Let me know soon so we can make plans. If the timing is right, Melissa is going to try to come with me. I hope that it all works out.

PS: I checked on the trip you took to the Forbidden City. The Columbian Government implied that it was not a safe trip or area for tourist. I know you are, but again please be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luke! Listen to your mother!! jk She's just being a mom and your just being a teenager......a 29 year old teenager. She probably doesn't read other people's comments especially after she posts one so my advice is trust you gut instincts and have fun.
